Be aware of the teaching space audit in Week 10

In Week 10 (4–8 May), you may notice Student Life Ambassadors briefly entering some teaching spaces at our Camperdown/Darlington campus as part of the University’s Space Utilisation Audit Pilot.

They will be observing and recording how rooms are being used to help the University plan and manage teaching spaces more effectively. Ambassadors will be clearly identifiable and will do their best to minimise disruption.

No personal information will be collected, and classes, assessments and exams will continue as normal.

What’s really behind your chocolate bar?

Chocolate tasting and a deeper dive into sustainability? Yes please. Join the launch of the 7th edition of the Chocolate Scorecard on Thursday 7 May from 6–7:30 pm in the New Law Lounge. The evening will feature speakers from across sustainability, human rights and academia. Plus thanks to Whittaker’s, there’ll be chocolate to sample too!

Vesak 🌸

Vesak is a significant day in the Buddhist calendar, commemorating the birth, enlightenment and passing of the Buddha. In Australia, Vesak is commonly observed in early May, with Friday 1 May widely recognised as the main day, and some communities marking the occasion on nearby days.

While traditions and dates may vary, Vesak is often observed through reflection, compassion and generosity, with practices such as meditation, acts of service, visiting temples, and time spent in community.

We recognise Vesak and wish all students observing this time peace and meaning.
