Welcome to your Semester 2 Student Update!

With Semester 2 just around the corner, now's the perfect time to get organised for the weeks ahead.

In this update, you'll find key dates, details about our Semester 2 Welcome Program, information on accessing your Semester 1 results, and tips to help you make the most of the semester ahead.


To-do this week

Access your class timetable 📒

Your personal timetable is now available on Sydney Timetable. You’ll be able to change classes and add yourself to classes until Sunday 16 August.

 

Know how to access your Semester 1 results ✅

Semester 1 results will be available in Sydney Student this Wednesday 8 July. 

If your results aren't what you hoped for, know that there's academic and personal support available to you. A new semester is a new opportunity to succeed, so make Semester 2 your best one yet with support from the Learning Hub.

 

Stay on track with the student wall calendar 🗓️

Want to set yourself up for success? Bookmark the 2026 student wall calendar (pdf, 430KB), where you can plan for the semester ahead and mark any key assessment dates for your courses.

Students at Welcome Fest

Welcome!

Whether you're new to the University or returning for another semester, our Welcome Program is back and you're invited! In Semester 2 2026, Welcome will take place from 20 July and continue into Week 4 of semester with orientation events, activities and workshops, as well as plenty of opportunities for you to connect with your cohort, faculty or school, and peers.

Plus, for the first two days of Week 1, Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 August, USU’s Welcome Fest takes over Eastern Ave with stalls, club and society sign-ups, freebies and more.

New student centre space

The Student Centre is back at JFR 🏢

The Student Centre in the Jane Foss Russell Building has reopened following its refurbishment, with services moving back from the temporary location in the Belinda Hutchinson Building. You can also continue to access support at Fisher Library.

From Monday 27 July, Student Services Hubs will return across campus to support the start of Semester 2. More details on locations and opening hours will be shared soon.

We've refreshed the homepage of the Sydney Uni app to help you stay on top of your studies ahead of Semester 2. Your key tasks, timetable, and support are now easier to find, so you can get to what matters most, faster.

NAIDOC Community Lunch performance

Get involved in NAIDOC Week events on campus 🍞

This week is NAIDOC Week and this year’s theme 50 Years of Deadly marking five decades of celebrating First Nations culture, strength and leadership. It’s a time to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and look ahead to the future.

Across campus, a range of events will bring this theme to life, from the NAIDOC Week Flag Raising Ceremony (Tuesday 7 July) to a 50 Years of Deadly NAIDOC Week Panel (Wednesday July 8) and Community Lunch (Thursday July 9), there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. You can also explore cultural learning through events like 30,000 years of baking bread (Tuesday July 7).

 
Award winners at the International Education Awards

Nominate for the International Student Awards 🌏

Made a positive impact during your time at uni? Nominations are now open for the Study NSW International Education Awards 2026, recognising international students across NSW for their contributions to study, work and community. You can nominate yourself or be nominated by a referee, with a supporting letter required as part of your application. Nominations close Friday 31 July.
