Complete the compulsory Respect@Sydney module on Canvas

We want to ensure you understand sexual consent, boundaries, and what respectful relationships look like. If you're starting your studies this year, you're required to complete our Respect@Sydney module on Canvas by census date, 31 March 2025.

It is important you complete this module by the deadline, otherwise you will not be able to view your results or receive your academic transcript at the end of semester, unless you've received an exemption from the Safer Communities Office.

This module has been newly co-designed with our students and staff following extensive consultations and feedback, and should take about 45 minutes to complete.

Finalise your units of study

The last day to add a new unit of study is Friday 7 March. Log into Sydney Student and go to ‘My studies’, then ‘Units of study’ to ensure you're taking the correct units of study this semester.

Access your units of study in Canvas

Make sure you can access the units you're enrolled in this semester on Canvas. It's also important to take time this week to read through your unit of study outlines (UoS) and any announcements or modules that have already been published.

Ensure your personal information is protected

Safeguarding your personal information is more important than ever. Read our guide to privacy protection to learn about privacy risks, how to avoid them and tips to ensure your personal details and information are protected.

Share your feedback about orientation content in Student News

We're seeking feedback from new students about orientation content in this newsletter, Student News. Have your say by taking our five minute orientation content survey.

A student holding a microphone with a tote bag that says 'Leadership for good starts here.' The student is holding a microphone towards a graduate holding flowers, with another graduate looking over

Hi, I'm Kaela 👋 (that's me with the Leadership for Good tote)

I'm a fourth year arts/law student and you may have seen my face around as one of the social media coordinators for USYD! I just finished up my media degree last year, and have really enjoyed being able to put my skills and knowledge to practise in my role at the University.

I also really love contributing to social media posts that keep other students, like you, informed on important student news. From updates on events and activities on campus, to important study information, to exciting competitions – following the USYD social media accounts (like our Instagram and TikTok) is the best way to stay plugged in and make the most out of uni life.

See you around (whether it’s on campus, or through your screen)! 📱
