Get ready for census on Monday 1 September 🗓️ This is the last date you will be able to finalise or withdraw from any units of study, finalise your residency status, suspend your studies or discontinue your course without it affecting your grades or you being financially liable for units of study.
Double check your units of study, and make sure you've submitted any HELP assistance forms and paid any necessary fees. Find out more about what you need to do on the census homepage. |
Have a group assignment coming up? Learn how to work with others 🤝
If you're a coursework student, group learning is a key part of your studies, so it's important you know how to effectively and respectfully work with others. Our guide on group work and participating in class is a great place to start. If you need further support, reach out to the Learning Hub (Academic Language and Learning). |
Complete the compulsory Academic Honesty Education Module (AHEM) in Canvas before 1 September ⏰
If you started your studies this semester, you're required to complete the Academic Honesty Education Module in Canvas before census date, Monday 1 September. The module is open to all students, so even if you've completed it previously you may find it useful to revisit to familiarise yourself with new rules around artificial intelligence (AI) use.

How a PhD student is reframing dementia for Chinese speakers |
New research from Chinese Studies PhD student, Zihan He, has resulted in a new Chinese-language term for the word ‘dementia’ – one that reduces stigma and shame for Chinese speakers.
“I’ve witnessed many Chinese-speaking people in Australia delay their first appointment with doctors because they did not want to face their health situations. I hope that the new translations can help destigmatise diseases in the community.” – Zihan He, 28, PhD student in Chinese studies. |
