Campus Access Policy review

The University adopted the new Campus Access Policy (PDF, 240 MB) in July this year to provide clearer information about expectations and requirements of conduct on campus.

As part of its implementation, we are running an additional review of the policy before the end of the year to assess its effectiveness and encourage you to share your views.

We want to know if you think the provisions of the policy are appropriate. Are amendments or more guidance needed? Have you identified problems in its implementation? Please let us know.

If you want to make a submission, you will need to do so before 30 November using the Campus Access Policy Feedback form. All submissions will be carefully considered, with a view to having any necessary amendments in place for Semester 1 2025.

If you have any further questions or need more information about the review, please contact policy.feedback@sydney.edu.au.

Inappropriate behaviour at St Paul's College

The University is shocked and deeply disappointed with the behaviour of some students at St Paul’s College. Any form of bullying or harassment is absolutely unacceptable and we support the disciplinary action the College has taken, and their commitment to review the training they provide to students.

While our affiliated residential colleges are independent, we endeavour to work together closely when issues arise, with the welfare of students our top priority. We are in contact with the College to understand the facts around what happened and the steps they are taking to manage this issue and ensure the safety and wellbeing of students, and to determine any additional measures we may need to take. All our investigations are undertaken with procedural fairness and the wellbeing of our community front of mind.

Support and wellbeing services are also available and we urge anyone who has experienced or witnessed inappropriate behaviour to let us know via the Safer Communities Office so we can provide support, investigate, and take appropriate action.

Study vacation (STUVAC) is next week, from Monday 4 November to Friday 8 November.

Due to an increase in reports of theft on our campuses, we remind students to not leave their belongings unattended.

In response to these incidents, NSW Police will be conducting additional proactive patrols of our Camperdown/Darlington Campus and surrounding areas. Information on how to collect and report lost property is available on the lost and found property webpage. If you feel unsafe on campus or are concerned for someone else’s safety, call police on 000, or contact Protective Services on 9351 3333, 24 hours a day.

allegations carefully and will not be declaring the election results until further notice. Information about elections can be found on the Current Elections webpage.
