Dear students,
We’re participating in the 2026 Student Experience Survey (SES), a survey of current higher education students across Australia conducted by the Social Research Centre on behalf of the Department of Education. It’s your opportunity to tell us what it’s like being a University of Sydney student and actively contribute to shaping the future of higher education in Australia.
All coursework students will be invited to participate from tomorrow, Tuesday 8 September. If you complete the survey, you’ll automatically go in the draw to win one of 50 gift vouchers valued at $50 and a $1000 prepaid e-gift card from the Social Research Centre.
We want to hear from all of you
You may be aware that the SES is usually open to students in their first and final year of study, and that’s what the official results will report on. However, this year, we’re opening the survey up to all coursework students – so we can hear everyone's insights both inside and outside the classroom. More feedback means more opportunities for improving the student experience for all.
We’re listening to your feedback and taking action
In response to what you’ve told us previously, we’ve worked with students to redesign study spaces on the Camperdown/Darlington campus and opened the new Careers Centre, where services range from online guidance to one-on-one appointments and interview debriefs. We also recently opened the new student Canteen, serving you affordable, $5 meals to fuel you for your classes, and added live tracking to our campus shuttle buses in the SafeZone app to help you feel safe getting to and from campus.

About the survey
The SES is an annual study of current higher education students in Australia. It's administered by the Social Research Centre, and students eligible to participate will receive an invitation to complete the survey from ses@srcentre.com.au.
