Severe weather – avoid non-essential travel

2 July 2025
Sent to all student list

Dear students,

Transport for NSW has issued communications this morning advising train passengers to avoid non-essential rail travel after severe weather disrupted services and caused damage to infrastructure. Some services have been cancelled because fallen trees have blocked tracks. Motorists are being urged to prepare for delays and disruptions.

If you are able to study from home today, please do so. If you need to come to campus, please take care. Contact Protective Services on 9351 2000 if you are in any difficulty or notice any damage to University property.

Any students who are impacted by the adverse weather and need support should contact their supervisor or unit of study coordinator for assistance.

Stay informed by downloading the Hazards Near Me App (Download for iOS | Download for Android) which will include the latest warnings and information for impacted communities.

Support

Student Wellbeing services are free and confidential for all students and can be contacted 24/7. More information on preparing for extreme weather is available on the student website.

Kind regards,

Nicole
